Small room — treat this as a rough estimate, not a precise measurement. Sabine's equation assumes a statistically diffuse sound field with fairly evenly distributed absorption. Small rooms (typical home studios, under roughly 50 m³) aren't diffuse, especially at low frequencies — below the Schroeder frequency shown above, individual room modes dominate the response rather than smooth reverberant decay, so RT60 as a single number becomes progressively less meaningful. Treat this as a useful planning estimate, not a lab-grade measurement — confirm with a real measurement mic before relying on it.
