Not sure where to start?

General questions about a tool, an order, or anything else on the site can go through the form — pick the closest topic and we'll route it from there. A detailed studio or acoustics review is a better fit for the consulting intake, since it collects the room details a real review actually needs.

Frequently asked questions

Do the analyzers actually measure my audio, or are the results AI-generated?

They're real, measured signal processing — not AI-generated text. Track Analyzer, Loudness Analyzer, Frequency Analyzer, Stereo Analyzer, Low-End Analyzer and Mix Health Check all run actual DSP measurements against the file you upload — loudness and true peak per ITU-R BS.1770-4, frequency-band energy from the track's real power spectral density, and so on. See Methodology for the exact formula and standard behind every number.

What's the difference between the free tools and the downloadable calculators?

The Room Mode Calculator, Speaker Placement Planner and RT60 Calculator on /tools run the full calculation free in your browser — no account, no time limit. The paid products are for keeping the work: editable workbooks you reuse offline (the RT60 Workbook, the Acoustic Treatment Planner and the Studio Project Workbook inside the Studio Acoustic Toolkit) plus written guides that aren't part of the free site — a one-time payment, not a subscription. See Products for the full comparison.

Do I need a measurement microphone to use the acoustics tools?

Not for the Room Mode Calculator, Speaker Placement Planner or RT60 Calculator — those are geometry calculators; enter your room dimensions and materials and that's it. The separate Studio Measurement tool does use a real sine-sweep measurement through your audio input, and works best with a calibrated USB measurement microphone (miniDSP UMIK-1/UMIK-2 or similar) — without a loaded calibration file, its results are a relative, uncalibrated response rather than true SPL.

Can I use an automated master for a finished release?

Adaptive Mastering runs a real, measurable signal chain — loudness normalization and true-peak-safe limiting toward a documented target per profile — not a decorative filter, so yes, people do use it for finished releases. It doesn't make the creative EQ/dynamics judgment calls a human mastering engineer would, though, and it can't fix problems already in the mix it's given — see Methodology for the full, honest limitations before relying on it for material where that judgment matters most.

What happens to audio I upload?

It's never used to train any model — that's the full extent of what we claim about uploaded audio. Files are stored under a randomly generated ID in private storage, and deleted automatically (the original upload after 24 hours, a mastered output or separated stems after 7 days, by default). You can also delete your own upload and any results yourself at any time. See Privacy for the complete policy.

I bought a calculator but didn't receive the download. What should I do?

First check your order confirmation email and, if you created an account at checkout, the Downloads tab on your account — the download link is shown in both places. Still missing? Send us a message below with Order & payment selected and your order number (from that confirmation email) — per our Terms, we'll follow up if a download wasn't delivered or was faulty.

Can you review my studio setup personally?

Yes — that's what the paid consulting services are for: a Quick Room Report, a Personal Studio Analysis with photo review, or a Complete Studio Consultation with a live video call. See Consulting for what each tier includes and its price.

Can I report a result that looks wrong?

Yes — choose Report a problem in the form below and include which tool/page, your browser, and the Job ID if you have one (visible in the page's URL after ?job= once a tool has produced a result). That's the fastest way to get it looked into.
