These terms govern your use of studiomusictools.com (the "Site") and any Studio Music Tools digital products or services you purchase.
Use of the free tools
The free calculators on this Site are provided for planning and educational purposes. You may use them for personal or professional studio planning. See /disclaimer for what these tools are and are not a substitute for.
Digital products
Digital products (spreadsheets, PDF guides, and bundles) purchased via Etsy, Gumroad, or directly through this Site are licensed, not sold, under the terms in the LICENSE.md included with your download (also summarized on each product page). In short: personal and professional studio use is fine, resale or redistribution of the files themselves is not.
Digital products are delivered electronically. Because of the nature of digital goods, all sales are final once the download has been delivered, except where required otherwise by applicable consumer law (e.g. EU/UK distance-selling regulations for digital content, which we honor — contact us at /contact if you believe your download was faulty or materially not as described).
Paid services (reports and consulting)
Paid Quick Room Reports, Personal Studio Analyses, and Complete Studio Consultations are described in detail on /consulting, including turnaround time and exactly what's included. These are professional planning/advisory services based on the information you provide; they are not a substitute for an on-site professional acoustic survey (see /disclaimer). Specific refund/revision terms for paid services are stated at the point of purchase/intake.
Accounts and payment
Where purchases are processed through a third-party platform (Etsy, a payment processor), that platform's own terms also apply to the transaction.
Intellectual property
All calculators, guide content, spreadsheets, branding, and site content are the property of Studio Music Tools unless otherwise noted, and are protected by copyright. See the LICENSE.md included with any digital product for what you may and may not do with purchased files.
Limitation of liability
Studio Music Tools provides calculators, guides, and services on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Studio Music Tools is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site, its calculators, or its products/services, including any acoustic treatment purchasing decisions made based on calculated results. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
