These terms govern your use of studiomusictools.com (the "Site") and any Studio Music Tools digital products or services you purchase. Studio Music Tools is operated by Theurbansoundstore; its business details are listed under "Who we are" at the end of this page.

Use of the free tools

The free calculators on this Site are provided for planning and educational purposes. You may use them for personal or professional studio planning. See /disclaimer for what these tools are and are not a substitute for.

Digital products

Digital products (spreadsheets, PDF guides, and bundles) purchased directly through this Site are licensed, not sold, under the terms in the LICENSE.md included with your download (also summarized on each product page). In short: personal and professional studio use is fine, resale or redistribution of the files themselves is not.

Digital products are delivered electronically. Because of the nature of digital goods, all sales are final once the download has been delivered, except where required otherwise by applicable consumer law (e.g. EU/UK distance-selling regulations for digital content, which we honor — contact us at /contact if you believe your download was faulty or materially not as described).

Right of withdrawal and immediate delivery

Consumers in the EU normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase made at a distance. What happens to that right depends on what you buy, so checkout asks for a short confirmation that matches your order. Everything we sell is delivered digitally and starts straight after payment.

• Downloads (software, spreadsheets, Ableton racks, sample packs, PDF guides): you ask us to deliver immediately and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day withdrawal right once the download starts.
• One-off services (Adaptive Mastering, Reference Mastering, EQ export, Stem Splitter): you ask us to start immediately. The right ends once the service has been fully performed. If you withdraw before then, you pay for what has already been provided.
• Time-limited passes (the 30-day MIDI Studio Pro pass): you ask for access to start immediately. If you withdraw within 14 days, you pay for the access already provided.
• One-time online tool access (Drum Studio Pro, DJ Mode): treated like a download. You acknowledge that you lose the right once access starts.
• Prepaid credits: you ask for the credits to be added immediately. If you withdraw within 14 days, credits you have already used are not refunded.

To withdraw from a purchase where the right still applies, contact us with your order number through the contact details under "Who we are". Nothing here limits any right you have by law, including when a product is faulty or not as described. We keep a record of your confirmation (the exact wording you saw, its version and the time) with your order and repeat it in your order confirmation email.

Orders and invoices: your order confirmation email shows the VAT included in your price. A formal VAT invoice is available on request via the contact details under "Who we are".

Audio Tools (Track Analyzer, Adaptive Mastering, EQ Studio, Stem Splitter, Vocal Extractor)

Track Analyzer, Adaptive Mastering, EQ Studio (when you export), and Stem Splitter let you upload an audio file for automated, server-side processing (measurement, mastering, EQ rendering, or AI source separation into stems). By uploading a file, you confirm that:

• You own the file, or you have the necessary rights or permission from the rights holder to have it processed this way.
• Processing it (including running it through automated source-separation or mastering software) does not infringe anyone else's copyright or other rights.

For Stem Splitter specifically, you're asked to tick a box confirming the above before separation runs. That checkbox records your confirmation — it is not, and is not intended to be, a legal determination that you actually hold those rights. We do not review uploads for rights ownership, and ticking the box does not transfer any rights or grant you a license to material you don't already have the right to use. You are solely responsible for what you upload and how you use the output.

We do not use uploaded audio to train any model. See /privacy for what's collected, how long it's kept, and how to delete your own uploads and results.

Automated mastering and AI stem separation are measurement- and model-driven tools, not a substitute for a human mastering or mixing engineer's judgment — results can vary by track, and we don't claim otherwise.

Paid services (reports and consulting)

Paid Quick Room Reports, Personal Studio Analyses, and Complete Studio Consultations are described in detail on /consulting, including turnaround time and exactly what's included. These are professional planning/advisory services based on the information you provide; they are not a substitute for an on-site professional acoustic survey (see /disclaimer). Specific refund/revision terms for paid services are stated at the point of purchase/intake.

Accounts and payment

Prices shown on the Site include VAT. The VAT contained in your order is shown at checkout before you pay. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Mollie, on its own secure payment page; we do not receive or store your card or bank details.

Card and bank details are entered on the payment provider's own page and are subject to that provider's terms.

Intellectual property

All calculators, guide content, spreadsheets, branding, and site content are the property of Studio Music Tools unless otherwise noted, and are protected by copyright. See the LICENSE.md included with any digital product for what you may and may not do with purchased files.

Limitation of liability

Studio Music Tools provides calculators, guides, and services on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Studio Music Tools is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site, its calculators, or its products/services, including any acoustic treatment purchasing decisions made based on calculated results. See /disclaimer for the specific limitations of calculated vs. measured acoustic data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
