Drum Lab is a 16-step sequencer with nine drum voices: kick, snare, clap, closed and open hat, two toms, rim and ride. Click steps to write a pattern, set each step to a ghost note, a normal hit or an accent, then add swing and a little humanize for feel. Four pattern slots, A to D, hold different bars, and switching while playing waits for the next bar.

The sounds are synthesised in your browser, and the pattern stays on your device. You do not need an account to make a beat.

Generate useful variations

Pro writes grooves from musical rules for seven styles: house, techno, hardgroove, disco, garage, breaks and minimal. Energy, density and syncopation change what the drums do, not just how many hits there are. Lock any drum with its padlock and Generate builds everything else around it, leaving the locked drum untouched.

Variations fill the other three slots with relatives of your pattern: small hat and percussion changes, ghost notes, and an end-of-bar fill. It is rule-based, not AI.

Export to your DAW

Download the pattern as a standard MIDI file to play your own drum rack, as a 24-bit WAV loop of the exact length, or as one WAV per drum so you can mix them yourself. Everything matches what you hear, with no mastering added.

Neither. The drum sounds are synthesised in your browser from scratch, and the groove generator follows written musical rules for each style rather than a trained model.

Pro can download a standard MIDI file (General MIDI drum notes on channel 10) to play your own drum rack, or render the loop as a 24-bit WAV, or as one WAV per drum, all the same length so they line up when imported.

Your pattern is kept in this browser on this device so it is still here when you come back. It is not sent anywhere unless you use a Pro action, which sends only the pattern to make the result.
