Audio Analysis Studio

Inspect your track’s waveform, spectrum, loudness, peaks and stereo image together, for the whole track or a selected region.

Select a verse, a drop or a single bar and every view follows it. Add a reference to compare the two spectra and loudness figures. Nothing is uploaded; your file stays in this browser tab.

How it works

Your file is decoded by the browser and measured by the same analysis code the Track Analyzer uses, running in a background worker so the page stays responsive. The waveform, the playhead and your selection are shared by every view: pick a region once and the spectrum, loudness, peak and stereo readouts all describe that region.

What it measures

Average spectrum and band shares on a logarithmic frequency axis; a spectrogram aligned with the waveform; momentary and short-term loudness, integrated loudness, loudness range, 4× oversampled true peak and crest factor; channel correlation, low-end correlation, side-to-mid level and the effect of summing to mono; and automatic sections you can rename, move, merge or split.

What it does not do

It applies no genre target and gives no score. Spectral slopes and band shares describe the signal; they do not say what a mix should sound like. The loudness figures are checked against reference values but the tool has not been through a formal conformance test, so it should not be quoted as a certified meter.

Keyboard

Space plays or pauses. Left and right arrows move the playhead by one second (five with Shift). Plus, minus and 0 zoom in, out and fit. L toggles loop, Z zooms to the selection, M adds a section boundary at the playhead, Escape clears the selection.

Questions

Is my audio uploaded?

No. The file is decoded and analysed in your browser and is forgotten when you close the page. Opening the Studio from another analyzer passes the file through your own browser storage, not through a server.

What can I analyse?

WAV, FLAC, MP3, AIFF, M4A and OGG files up to 200 MB that your browser can decode. Stereo and mono files are both supported.

Is this a certified loudness meter?

No. Loudness is measured with K-weighting, gating and 4× oversampled true peak in the manner of ITU-R BS.1770, and it is checked against reference values. It has not been through a formal conformance test, so treat it as a measurement aid, not a compliance certificate.

Does the Studio tell me whether my mix is good?

No. It shows measurements and flags technical conditions such as true-peak overs, clipped samples or out-of-phase low end. It applies no genre target and gives no score.

How does reference comparison work?

The reference is analysed in a second worker with the same engine. The two spectra are aligned on their 200 Hz–2 kHz average so the shape is compared rather than loudness, and you can listen to either one at matched integrated loudness.

Reading several analyses at once

Select a region on the waveform and every view describes it: spectrum, loudness, peaks and stereo image. Treat each reading as a measurement, not a verdict: loudness figures are checked against reference values but have not been through a formal conformance test, and a spectral slope describes a signal, it does not say what a mix should sound like. Use listening to decide what matters.
